Job interviews

Think about today’s job interview simulations. Consider each candidate’s strengths and weaknesses and post your feedback comments.  You may take the following aspects into account:

-Language use (grammar/vocabulary accuracy, range & adequacy)
-Task achievement (efficient achievement of communicative purpose, content relevance & extent)
-Fluency & pronunciation (speech flow, intonation, stress & rhythm)
-Communicative resources (use of linguistic and non-linguistic resources, supporting material, attitude)

Mariona—> She was confident, fluent and her attitude was good. The only thing that I would improve is the language use (grammar, vocabulary…) and more knowledge of the topic that she was talking about. But it's normal, because we don't really know about the job position, etc…

Gabriele—> He was very fluent, confident and his attitude was good too. In my opinion he talked too much when he answered the different questions and it seemed that he went off the point. It was good but I would just stick to the important thing in order to answer the questions.

Sara—> Her attitude was good, she was fluent but the only thing is that she didn't look confident. The same as Mariona, I would improve the language use (grammar, vocabulary…) and more knowledge of the topic that she was talking about.

Carlota—> Her attitude was good, she was fluent and confident but in my opinion she should improve language use and more knowledge of the topic.

Everyone was great!!!

Kimberly - She was very confident during the job interview. The vocabulary used was very correct and fluency was alright too. Thing to change would be; to talk slower, to listen well to the questions asked and try to get to the point. Anyway, the interview was very professional.

Lucas - He was very calm and had a good attitude. He knew very well his strengths and used them well in his favor. Things to improve would be, just as Kimberly, to listen well to the questions asked to answer them correctly.

Carla - She was really great. She almost convinced me to hire her. She was confident and knew what she was talking. Fluency was no problem, but language and vocabulary should be improved.

Albert - Albert did a great job using his vocabulary during the interview and the fluency he had while talking was very good. His main problem was that he was not confident while talking.

In general everyone did an amazing work and the hotel should hire us all four.

Lucas - Lucas gave a peaceful vibe. He showed he was confident and he was thinking things first before saying them. I should improve the level of oral emotion, like making more emphasis on some words, changing the melody of the speech. Also, I was very convinced on hiring him until he had begged us to hire him! All the confidence flew away with that sentence!

Carla - She showed confidence and she was also very cheerful. In my opinion, she wanted to say too many things to show off her resume, as a consequence, it can seem a bit ostentatious.

Albert - Albert answered the questions quite good. He stuck to the point (which is something very important) and seemed relaxed. He should keep more eye contact. For most of the time, I was looking at the table, and you could notice that I was not aware of it.

Kimberly - Kim was great too. She also seemed confident and it was impressive the energy she had. It was very powerful. Body language was also good. She had a lot to say and for this reason maybe she was talking way too fast. Also she tended to loose focus of the question, at some point you could get lost.
