Welcome to the academic year 2025-26. In this introductory session, you will be required to complete two production tasks.
1. Written expression. Write a story in pairs using as many of the following words as possible:
-Actually
-Career
-Despite
-Nevertheless
-If she/he had only known
Swap your texts with another pair after 10 minutes and continue writing them until you have contributed to all the stories. Use your imagination and be creative!
2. Oral expression. Rank the following concepts according to your personal priorities in life:
-Family
-Friends
-Health
-Money
-Politics
-Romance
-Sex
-Sport
-Studies
-Work
Make a list individually and then compare it to other students' choices to reach a consensus and create a single list. Once you've finished, join another pair to follow the same process and come up with a single list you all agree with. Provide arguments for this pyramidal discussion until the entire class produces a consensual ranking.

My family and I went to Barcelona for a few days of holidays but actually, we were here to find an apartment for me. Despite looking at rental websites,I still had trouble finding my ideal apartment.So we visited many places. My parents and I got very tired , but nevertheless , we finally found a beautiful shared apartment !However , we had a problem with the contract : it was all in spanish. If I had known, I would have taken spanish course before going to Barcelona.
Despite all that trouble with the contract , we finally made it . In a few days I was going to move to my new apartment .
We celebrated the end of our apartment hunting by going to the fanciest restaurant we could find in Barcelona. My family was thrilled that I could start this new journey all by myself in a few years going after higher ranks in this career related to tourism.
Two years. ago I went to the beach with my family for our summer holidays. The beach was near our hometown so we didn't need to book a place to stay. Nevertheless it was quite far and we had to go every morning by car. It was a 30-40 min drive, but we wanted to save money as much as possible as possible, so the next year we could book a summer destination outside our hometown. The first days everything was going very smoothly but after a week the weather started to change. it was raining almost everyday and for a week, it was very cloudy as well. Despite that we did other activities inside the house. At the beginning we stayed at the house doing chores and maybe playing some table games, but later (1)
we started going to the beach in the raining. (2)
If we had only known, we would have taken flight to the Maldives haha! But this little trip was actually good because instead laying all day at the beach, we did a lot of fun activities. And as it was pretty close from our hometown, I decided to give my curriculum at our hostel manager, hoping that I will get a job and start a career in this lovely sector.(3)
HOLIDAY STORY:
In summer vacation, three people want to go to Japan to enjoy the vacation. One of them people A goes to buy the ticket. But actually, he got troubles with finding a ticket machine. If he had only kown, he would have buy online ticket before. That's what they did: they come back home and took their ticket online. Despite their ticket problem, they finally booked the trip online. Few days passed by and the day of the trip came. All of them were very excited. Nevertheless, one of them was a bit worried because of the ticket problem. He didn't want anything to ruin the trip, because actually he was going to an interview as well. So, that Japan trip could be a really important step to his career life while for their friends it was another trip.
